JESS: Hey Tom, there's a shitload of something up there in the vents.
TOM: Yeah, I can hear them clanging about and I can see the lights. Maybe it's a bunch of Joltik...maybe it's my Joltik. Well, he'd probably go to where his kind are gathered, but we won't be able to get him or the others back until we make it through this chamber into the east side of the facility.
JESS: Why would the Zoroark take my egg and your Joltik?
TOM: I don't think they were both taken by the same Pokemon, Jess. I think there's something else at work here. Either way, we need to be ready. They're ambush predators, so they know we're coming.
TOM: Electabuzz, Vigoroth, and Gliscor all know Brick Break. You may want Sheila to pick one of them, since that's currently our best attack against the Zoroark.
JESS: Sheila...do Electabuzz. Judgment, Frostbite, Soot, get out and get ready.
The closer I get to this Lanturn tank, the more and more I'm sure that this is the sole generator for the power plant, but why would Doc construct his generator so unstably? It probably has very little strain on the Lanturn if it's just harnessing latent static electricity, but it would require constant maintenance to make sure it didn't overload and--
Of course! The loose connections, the sparking, the kid in the Pokemon Center saying that the problem wasn't lack of power but too much power...that's the Zoroark's plan! They attacked everyone who could have safely discharged the excess electrical energy gathered up by this generator and are waiting for it to go critical! By the looks of it, that could happen real soon--
The cage is crawling with Helioptile and Joltik! If they were drawn here because of the overload, their latent static electricity is just going to add fuel to this fire. Oh, this is not good--
The Lanturn! It's...trying to get our attention? What's wrong? What do you need--?
Jess, watch out! This thing is shooting bolts out sporadically and the Helioptile are gathered to try to feed on the energy. This is really--
Two incoming! I think they think we're a threat--
Jess, what's that Kevin and Arturo are yelling about Joltik? I can barely hear them.
Wait! Keep them yelling! We're gonna need a distraction to get us through here--
KEVIN! ARTURO! ZOROARK ON THE CATWALK! ON YOUR SIX! HE'S GOT A--
Magnemite? Why would it--?
THE CAGE! IT'S ONE BIG ELECTROMAGNET! LOOK OUT--!
Jirachi?! Of course! The Psychic attack could redirect the trajectory--!
Okay, maybe not. Arturo took a Magnemite to the chest as it went by, but now it's hurtling toward the cage--
HOLY SHIT, IT BLEW UP! NOBODY TOUCH THE CAGE--!
Guhh! Helioptile got me in the chest--but hey...that...didn't really hurt. Like, at all? Have I spent so much time around Electric-type Pokemon that I've pretty much become one?
Am...am I becoming a superhero?
Jess, what's going on down on your end? Why is Frostbite beneath the catwalk blowing icy wind--?
Shit, there's one down here with us, isn't there?! Keep at it! If it come up here, I got six fists waiting for it. Anubis is facing down the Zoroark on the catwalk while Kevin is trying to get that door open--
GUYS! TWO MORE JUST DROPPED DOWN! JIRACHI, GET ON THAT!
The Swift attack went right through them? Could they just be illusions--?
But they slash like real Zoroark! Kevin, Anubis is taking a beating back there! How are you on the--?
KEVIN: Door's open! Tom, you've got Two Zoroark on your stairs!
Shit, they got behind us! Vigoroth, use Yawn on the left one! Gliscor, Brick Break the one on the right!
Electabuzz, see if you can redirect some of the arcs of electricity coming out of the coil through your body and use it to super-power your Shock Wave attack!
BAM! Gliscor hit them both damn hard! Now, Electabuzz, release the power!
That worked! They're backing off, and now we have a way fight with a bit more range and a bit more power--!
JESS! Are you okay?! Gliscor, get down to her and wrap her up like a poncho! Absorb that electricity if it shoots out again!
Electabuzz-Shiela knocked one off the stairwell! Now we just have the one left, and Judgment is launching fire at that nasty bastard as he retreats! They're on the run--
But they closed the door behind them! No matter, we need to help out Anubis! Nightsun is trying to divert some electricity away from Anubis, and he's managed to knock one Zoroark off the gangplank, but he's still in trouble--
Arturo just took another Magnemite to the chest! Electabuzz, conduct the electricity and Shock Wave that Zoroark still up there!
Direct hit! One of them was definitely an illusion, but there's still two up there--!
JESS: Judgment! Sheila! Go after that Zoroark that ran away! Soot, to me!
Good idea, Jess. Let her heal you up.
It's Nightsun, Anubis, and the Tyrogue against the two Zoroark, but Nightsun's wrapped one up, so I can only have Electabuzz attack the other--
Is Kevin readying a Poke Ball? Is he gonna try to catch that damn thing?! His prerogative, I guess. Electabuzz! Super-shock the other one!
ALRIGHT! That's one down!
JESS: Tom, apparently Frostbite can't hear what's going on in the tank.
TOM: Naturally, it's probably very thick glass and sound doesn't carry well in water.
KEVIN: Les monstres se transforment lors de l'impact. Attaque à vue.
TOM: ...come again?
JESS: Makes no sense. "Monsters were transformed on impact; attack on sight."
TOM: Did you find another note?!
KEVIN: Hit everything!
TOM: I'm focused on the Zoroark. I'm not gonna take out Electric-types if I can help it.
The last Zoroark is down! Nightsun wrapped it into unconsciousness! Okay...is everyone okay--?
SHIT! Anubis just leapt onto the cage and is Bone Rushing all the Helioptile off! Gliscor, cover her!
...coast is clear, looks like, and the rest of the Helioptile are skittering away. Looks as though Kevin and Arturo went into that side room--another note?
TOM: "Rien ne vaut son chez-soi. Je attendrai.”
JESS: "No place like home. I'll wait."
TOM: These notes have to be a conversation with Doc. That's got to be him telling someone else that he's staying here.
JESS: But they're all the same handwriting, aren't they?
TOM: Could be that Doc has gone insane and is talking to himself.
JESS: Oh, good!
TOM: These Helioptile seemed to be crazed by so much electricity in the air. Could it be that there's something in the air that maybe drove Doc mad?
JESS: Synchronoise, maybe?
TOM: I don't know if a Pokemon can do that to a human, or if he could sense their feelings...I mean, it's entirely possible--
THWUMP!
TOM: Something just made a pretty big noise up there, right where Kevin and Arturo went.
